Alpha hydroxy acids

Skincare

Aging of the skin results from changes that occur in the connective tissue and due to a decrease in cell regeneration abilities.
The phenomenon manifests itself in the appearance of fine lines and tiny scars caused by accumulation of cells of the stratum corneum, as well as due to reduction of the hydro-lipid layer on the skin surface, which cause the skin to have a faded grayish appearance.

The role of alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA)

Whether these acids are natural or synthesized, they are known to play several roles:
They help remove dead cells, increase skin firmness, give the skin a brighter appearance, help reduce wrinkles and fine lines, blur skin blemishes, especially pigmentation spots, encourage collagen production, speed up the process of cell regeneration, and contribute to the skin’s protective layer. Despite their many roles, one must remember that AHA acids may cause irritation and are not suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive and delicate skin.

Alpha-hydroxy acids that do not cause skin irritations

Flower acids extracted from the hibiscus flower (or more precisely from the sepals of Hibiscus Sabdarifa) are the second generation of alpha-hydroxy acids that do not cause irritation. It has been proven that thanks to their composition and effectiveness, they provide moisture to the skin and prevent the loss of water (more than lactic acids). They have more regenerative properties than alpha-hydroxy acids of the first generation – all without causing skin irritations. All skin types, even sensitive skin, can therefore benefit from their many properties.
The acids of the hibiscus flower protect and strengthen the skin. They reduce the signs of aging, regulate sebum production, and give the skin softness and a smooth and uniform appearance.

These acids, which have a high concentration of organic acids, are characterized by a high content of citric acid type acids (10%) and the presence of pyruvic acid significantly stimulates cell regeneration, without causing skin irritation, thanks to the high rate of soothing resin it contains. The pyruvic acid stimulates the synthesis of collagen and mucopolysaccharides. Its contribution to the reduction of skin aging is maintained for a prolonged period of time.
