Vitamin A

Skincare

Treatment of dry skin
Already at the beginning of the last century, scientists discovered the properties of vitamin A, which creates positive changes in skin cells. After World War II, it was chemically mapped and started being used as an active ingredient in medical treatments.
The main symptoms that appear in the skin due to vitamin deficiency are increased dryness and scaling (abnormal cell renewal rate). The vitamin and its derivatives, called in the professional language retinoids, have a central role in the constant process of regeneration and differentiation of the epidermis layer (the top layer of the skin), but tiny amounts of retinoids are required to balance the process and to maintain a normal rate of cell regeneration, especially at an age when the natural process slows down.

Retinoids also have an effect on the deep layers, where they encourage the creation of a gel-like substance that wraps around the collagen and elastin fibers, thus making the skin flexible and strong.

Vitamin A comes in the form of retinoid acid, it is able to easily treat skin diseases and acne and also used for pigmentation problems, skin lightening, sun damage and more. Retinoid acid is administrated only with the approval of a doctor.

From medicine to cosmetics – vitamin A for the face

The real breakthrough began when the cosmetic companies developed retinol for cosmetic use and completely eliminated the side effects that characterized the retinoid acid. The great advantage of the retinol in the cosmetic products over the retinoid acid administrated by doctors is that as soon as retinol penetrates the skin, it turns into retinoid acid there and provides the desired benefits without causing sensitivity. The advanced technology of Landau Laboratories allows to preserve the vitamin which is very sensitive to light and heat and in addition the Retinol Forte series products also contain moisturizers and sunscreens. To protect the retinol, it is wrapped in microscopic microcapsules that bring the retinol deep into the living cells.

Due to the regeneration and differentiation of the cells thanks to retinol, the following results are achieved:

  1. Thicker layers of skin
  2. The depth of the wrinkles decreases (due to thickening), the wrinkles are filled from below and become flatter.
  3. The stratum corneum strengthens and creates an effective barrier against external hazards.
  4. The face gets a more beautiful, uniform and healthier tone.
  5. The vitamin reaches the cell nucleus and improves skin blood circulation.
  6. The nourishing capacity of the epidermis is strengthened.
  7. The skin develops the ability to retain reserves of natural moisturizers.

In addition to this, lack of vitamin A, especially from the age of thirty and older, causes the skin to wear out because the external air pollution directly affects the skin, the wrinkles get deeper and deeper, and when this is also added with dryness due to lack of vitamin A, the skin ages quickly, its tone turns gray and its appearance fades.

Good to know –
Use of the Retinol Forte series is recommended as a restorative treatment for the skin and is not intended for regular use. Consult your beautician regarding the frequency of use recommended for you personally and your skin. Retinol Forte can be used several times a year.
